Welcome to Chieftain Canopies

chieftain canopies were the first to be innovative with sleek styling whilst being able to maintain flexural rigidity and keeping the canopy light in weight. Chieftain have over the past 25 years maintained their dedication to giving the customer what they want. Unlike most ute canopy manufacturers, Chieftain prides itself in its internal flanging system that customises your canopy to your ute. This is unlike most mass production type ute canopies on the market today.

In keeping with the demands of canopy customers in the late 90’s chieftain canopies developed a new canopy product that shows a break away from the more conventional ute canopy types for tray back utes. This new canopy range known as the “Tradesman” exemplifies the focus that we at Chieftain have for the continuous need for technical development.

The Tradesman Range of canopies is a great example of our years of canopy research. Using cutting-edge fibreglass technology, we have been able to create a ute canopy that is lightweight, strong, and yet having the technical flexibility to withstand the independent motion of the utility back.

Recognising that some of our customers have more specific needs we at chieftain canopies can customise your ute canopy to your special requirements. This is an example of our commitment to our customers in that we will provide a quality not only in our canopy products but also in our customer service. It is with this commitment that we manufacture our canopies to Quality Design and Management ISO9001 and also QS9000 standards, being the quality management system introduced by the Motor Vehicles Manufactures, and all our products are Barcol tested, for correct hardness using a Durometer

Here at chieftain canopies we ONLY specialise in ute canopy covers for the back of your utility; we are not tray builders and 4WD resellers but we are canopy manufacturers and that is the secret to our success. We concentrate in the one area so when it comes to covering up the back of your utility … well canopies R US!!!!!
